FAQ

Everything You'd Want To Know Before Booking.

If your question isn't here, WhatsApp us on 071 972 1964 and we'll answer properly.

How much does car detailing cost in Durban?

Glossify Detailing prices start at R480 for an Exterior Detail, R850 for an Interior Detail, R2,150 for paint correction and R4,100 for a ceramic coating. Most prices depend on your vehicle size: Small (compact cars), Standard (sedans and SUVs) or Large (double cabs, large SUVs and vans). You can see the exact price for your car before you book. Prices are subject to change without prior notice.

Do you come to me?

Yes. Glossify Detailing is a fully mobile detailing service — we bring the whole setup to your home or workplace anywhere in Durban. There's no drop-off, no queue and no waiting room. You carry on with your day while we work on the car.

Are you insured?

Yes. Glossify Detailing is fully insured, so your car is covered while we work on it at your home or office.

What do you need on site?

Just a power outlet and a water tap at the address on the day. We bring everything else: machines, products, water hoses and lighting. If you're in an apartment or an underground parking bay without a tap nearby, message us first and we'll work something out.

How long does a detail take?

An Exterior Detail takes about 1.5 hours and an Interior Detail about 3 hours. Paint correction and ceramic coatings take most of a day, so we start those in the morning. If you book more than one vehicle we do them all in the same visit, so the time adds up across the cars.

Can I book more than one car at once?

Yes. You can add several vehicles to one booking, each with its own package and extras, and we'll detail them all in a single visit. The price and the time on site are the totals across every vehicle — handy for households with two cars or a small fleet.

Which areas of Durban do you cover?

We cover 135 suburbs across Durban, from Ballito, Zimbali and the North Coast down through Umhlanga, La Lucia and Durban North, across Morningside, the Berea and Glenwood, inland to Westville, Kloof and Hillcrest, and south to the Bluff and Amanzimtoti. If your suburb isn't on our list, message us — we can often make a plan.

How do I pay?

Payment is by EFT. A 50% deposit secures your slot and is due within 24 hours of booking, and the balance is payable once the work is done. We don't take card payments, and we never see or store your banking details.

Do I need to be there while you work?

Not necessarily. As long as we can reach the car, and there's power and water available, you're welcome to leave us to it. Plenty of customers book us at the office and collect a clean car at the end of the day.

Do you detail trucks, bakkies and fleet vehicles?

Yes — that's our Glossify Fleet & Industrial service, which covers trucks, larger bakkies, commercial and fleet vehicles. Because size and condition vary so much, these are quoted individually instead of priced online. Send us the vehicle and its condition and we'll come back with a price.

What happens if it rains?

We'll contact you and move your booking to the next suitable slot at no charge. Durban weather turns quickly, so we'd rather reschedule than hand back a car we're not happy with. Your deposit carries over to the new date.

Is my deposit refundable?

Your 50% deposit holds your slot and carries over if we reschedule for weather or if you reschedule with at least 24 hours' notice. Cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment and the deposit is refunded. Please see our Refund and Cancellation Policy for the full detail.

How often should I have my car detailed?

For most cars in Durban, a full detail every three to six months keeps it in good shape, with an interior refresh in between if you do school runs, carry pets or eat in the car. Coastal suburbs are harder on paint — salt air means the exterior benefits from more frequent attention.
